Streams available for Radio%20Tircoed to listen to on your Windows RT tablet:
What do all these numbers above mean?
Some stations have multiple streams available. The greater the number (the bitrate) for your chosen stream, the better the sound quality you will hear, but also the higher amount of internet usage that will be consumed by your device.
The mp3 format has been designed for higher quality listening whereas the newer AAC+ format has been designed with data economy in mind. Some consider 48k-64k AAC+ to be roughly equivalent to 128k mp3 in terms of sound quality, so choose a stream depending on your own requirements. For usage at home, we'd recommend choosing an mp3 stream unless there is a greater bitrate stream available on AAC+. Not all stations are available in both formats. s = stereo, m = mono.
If a "?" is shown before the bitrate, then this indicates that the stream has been reported to be dead and is unlikely to work. It may still be worth giving it a try in case it has returned to service since the last database update.
